House Rules
A short, plain-language guide to living in our places. The full terms are in the rental agreement you'll sign before your stay; this page is the everyday version. The goal is simple: leave the place the way you found it, and have a great time.
Arriving and leaving
- Check-in — anytime after 3:00 PM.
- Check-out — by 10:00 AM.
- Self check-in — every unit uses a keypad. We send you the code the day before you arrive; the code changes after you leave.
- Need an early arrival or late departure? Just ask. We can usually accommodate if another guest isn't booked in or out.
Who's staying
- Maximum 8 guests per unit. Renting two or more units together for larger groups (up to 16) is fine — just tell us in advance so we can coordinate.
- The names of all guests staying in the unit are listed on the rental agreement. The person who signs the agreement must be at least 25 years old and must be staying in the unit.
- Day visitors are welcome during reasonable hours. Anyone staying overnight needs to be on the rental agreement.
Pets
- Unit A is pet-friendly. Units B, C, and D are not. If you'd like to bring a dog, please book Unit A.
- All visiting dogs need to be confirmed with us in advance. We'll confirm any pet fee in your rental agreement.
No-go's
- No parties or events. Our buildings are in a quiet residential neighborhood. Reunions and family get-togethers among confirmed guests are great; open-invitation gatherings are not.
- No smoking inside any unit. If you smoke outside, please use the disposal containers and not the lawn.
- Quiet hours 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The neighbors live here year-round and we want to keep being good neighbors to them.
Parking
Free parking for your stay in our beach house driveway, which is at the end of the street. Specifics on which spots and how many cars are coordinated when you arrive. Please don't park in neighbor driveways or in marked private spots.
Treating the place well
- Linens and towels are provided. Please use the towels supplied for showers, not the beach — there are spare beach towels labeled in the unit.
- The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, dishes, and basic spices. Treat it the way you'd want someone to treat your kitchen.
- Trash and recycling go in the bins outside; pickup days vary by season and we'll note them in your check-in info.
- Sand belongs at the beach. There's a foot wash outside and shoes-off near the door is appreciated.
Safety
- Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in every unit. Please don't disable them.
- Fire extinguishers in the kitchen and a first-aid kit in the bathroom.
- If something is wrong — broken appliance, plumbing issue, anything that affects your stay — call (207) 450-7347 right away. Jill is local and responds quickly.
Damage
Accidents happen. If you break something, just tell us. Honest accidents are forgiven; concealed damage isn't. The rental agreement covers how damages are handled.
