Privacy Policy
We're a small, owner-run vacation rental business. We don't run ads, we don't track you across the internet, and we don't sell your information. This page explains, plainly, what we do collect when you contact us through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

What we collect, and why
When you submit an inquiry through our contact form, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, phone number (if you give one), the dates and property you're interested in, your guest count, and the message you write. We use this information for one purpose only — to respond to your inquiry, send you a rental agreement if you choose to book, and follow up on the booking itself.
Inquiry messages are delivered to our email through a form-handling service (Netlify or Formspree, depending on routing). They're stored in our email inbox the same way any email is. We do not feed inquiry data into any analytics, advertising, or marketing platform.
Cookies and local storage
We use a very small number of browser-side storage items, all related to making the website work for you:
- Language preference — if you choose French (FR) or English (EN), we remember it for your next visit. Stored locally in your browser; never sent to us.
- Cookie acknowledgment — once you dismiss the small notice at the bottom of the page, we remember not to show it again. Stored locally; never sent to us.
Third-party services that load on the site may set their own cookies or transmit your IP address: Google Fonts (typography), OpenStreetMap (the property map), and Netlify (our hosting provider). We do not run advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or social-media pixels.
How long we keep your information
Inquiry emails are kept in our inbox so we can reference past conversations with repeat guests. If you'd like us to delete an inquiry from our records, email us at beachgirloob@gmail.com and we'll confirm when it's done. Once a booking is complete, we keep records of the rental and signed rental agreement for as long as required by Maine state tax and business records law, which is typically up to seven years.
Your rights
Wherever you're contacting us from — Maine, elsewhere in the United States, Quebec, another Canadian province, the European Union — you have the right to ask us what information we hold about you, request a copy of it, request correction of anything incorrect, and request that we delete it (subject to records we're legally required to retain). Email beachgirloob@gmail.com with your request and we'll respond within thirty days.
Children
Our rental services are intended for adults booking on behalf of their families. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, post a notice on the homepage.
